Our Programs

WonderKids Early Learning Center of RI

WONDERKIDS provides quality childcare to families who have children from six weeks to five years of age. Our professional staff has been chosen for each age group.

WonderKids incorporates the RIELDS (Rhode Island Early Learning & Development Standards) into each well thought out daily lesson plan which in turn corresponds to the weekly and monthly learning themes. Using these RIELDS provides guidance to families on what children should be able to do as they enter each phase of their development through Kindergarten. They are inclusive of all children by recognizing that children may meet the Early Learning & Development Standards at different times and in different ways. The Rhode Island Early Learning & Development Standards are divided into nine domains:
1. Cognitive Development
2. Mathematics
3. Science

4. Social Studies
5. Creative Arts
6. Physical Health & Motor Development

7. Social & Emotional Development
8. Language Development & Communication
9. Literacy

We at WonderKids incorporate these Early Learning & Development Standards to assist in the successful future development of your child’s growth by giving them a well rounded curriculum starting in Infancy and carrying that into every stage of development through Kindergarten and then beyond!

Infant Program

A loving and caring yet stimulating environment. A one to three Teacher/Infant ratio is maintained. This helps our infants to enjoy a sense of security in the bonding process. Each infant schedule is maintained and recorded on a daily basis for proper care. Again, the goal of WONDERKIDS is to provide a loving, caring and stimulating environment for quality infant care.

Toddler Program

The toddler program consists of children from eighteen months to thirty six months of age. A one to five Teacher/Toddler ratio is maintained to ensure quality care.

The goal of this program is to enhance socialization skills and to introduce basic cognitive concepts which is very much needed in their curiosity and exploring stages. This is also known as the “ME” stage. The program has been designed to meet the individual toddler’s needs. This promotes quality care and aids in assuring parents that their child is well cared for.

Preschool Program

Comprehensive educational experience is the goal of this group – three years through five years of age. A one to seven Teacher/Student ratio is maintained. This will be accomplished by creating an environment that will stimulate the desire to learn within each child, broaden each child’s language experience and offer the opportunity for creative problem solving and making informed choices. Furthermore, it will help each child develop a positive self-image as he / she interacts with peers and adults. The well planned curriculum will include: Social Science, Natural Science, Language, Mathematics, Health, Nutrition, Music and Art. Two teachers with degrees in Early Childhood Education are responsible to carry out this program making it a stimulating learning experience.
